The Best Christian Baby Board Books

I know that the most important thing I can do for my children is make sure that they know Jesus. Beyond books, parents can introduce faith through daily prayers, attending church together, and modeling Christ-like behavior in everyday life. There are so many ways to lay a foundation from an early age, but the easiest is definitely a collection of Biblically based board books in your library. Here are my favorites:

I am starting with this series because it is by far my favorite! Each of these books covers different educational topics, from counting to animals, the alphabet, and sounds, while tying in actual scripture. These books align with early childhood development milestones by supporting language acquisition, cognitive skills, and social-emotional growth. They introduce foundational concepts in a faith-based context, helping children make connections between learning and their spiritual journey. The illustrations are beautiful, and each one is the perfect length to hold their interest. The extra bonus here is that because it uses real verses, it gets to be part of my Scripture memory for the day too!

These books, mostly based on different Psalms, are so sweet. The lyrical text and unique illustrations are perfect for little ones to enjoy and truly understand what it means to praise and be loved by our Heavenly Father.

3. Training Young Hearts

These lift-the-flap books offer practical advice on living like Jesus! They teach how we can ask the Holy Spirit to help us when we use our hands to hit or our eyes to glare, which is not what they are made for!

4. Big Theology for Little Hearts

This series introduces little ones to big theological concepts in a simple, engaging way. Each book explores foundational Christian beliefs and helps parents begin deep conversations with their children.

5. Hymns for Little Ones

These beautifully illustrated books introduce classic hymns to children, helping them learn timeless songs of faith while reinforcing key Biblical truths. Singing hymns can aid in memory retention and spiritual growth, making them a powerful tool for instilling faith in young hearts. They are perfect for bedtime or quiet devotional moments.

6. For the Bible Tells Me So

Did you know that it is incredibly beneficial for babies to hear rhyming and repetition to grow their vocabulary? These books use rhyming to draw little ones closer to Jesus and what it looks like to have a relationship with Him!

7. When I Pray for You

This is the book you should get for every pregnant momma in your life. It’s a guaranteed tearjerker, beautifully written to express the heart of a mother praying over her child, from first nights in a rocking chair to the moment they leave the nest.

This line from the book gets me every time, “Cause when I pray for you, no matter what we go through, the dreams that you dream, I’ll be dreaming them too.”

8. Just in Case You Ever Wonder

This is the perfect bedtime story, reminding children of how loved they are in every season and providing an introduction to Heaven. It’s so sweet.

9. Don’t Forget to Remember

This one by singer/songwriter Ellie Holcomb is SO so beautiful. The illustrations take you on a journey, like what it could be in heaven with animals and children all together. (Think hanging in a hot springs with a polar bear.) It's SO fun with a beautiful message about how we can look to creation to be reminded of God’s love for us every day!

10. Bible Stories for Little Ones: Baby’s First Bible Board Book

I’ll end this round up of Christian Baby Board Books with my favorite first Bible! It’s really simple, not too big, and the watercolor-like pictures are really pretty. Each story gives a super quick synopsis of the Bible story, pointing back to God’s character.
