Funny thing is, my son, Logan has a unisex name and I think that his brother or sister will also have a unisex name. Which of these do you think fits best in our family? And which ones fit best in yours?

I don’t know about you, but when I find a name that I love and it coincidentally has a biblical meaning, my heart melts. God has given us so much and blessed me with this child. Giving him or her a name that glorifies God is so special.
The obvious meaning of the name is from the “east town”. But it can go much deeper than that! East is the direction of the sunrise, the symbol of a new day, and maybe most interestingly – biblically, the east is a symbol of sunlight which represented God’s light and glory.
High, ascended, or My God. It doesn’t get much better than this when naming a child for it’s biblical meaning.
This name originates from the Hebrew name Elijah and means “Jehovah is God”.
The welsh meaning of the name Evan is “God has been gracious” or “God has shown favor”.
The Hebrew meaning for the name Joey is “May Jehovah add”. I take this as asking for blessings for this child.
Jordan originated as a name given to those who were to believed to have been baptized in holy water because Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River!
Meaning “He who is like God”. What we all pray for our child to be, isn’t it?
Another one that is not biblical and not technically have a Christian meaning, but can be looked at with a spiritual light. This name means “the king’s child” which is the epitome of Christianity.
Although this name is not necessarily biblical, it can have a meaning related to your faith. The English meaning is “wise” and the Latin meaning is “prophet” or “man of profound wisdom”. This seriously makes me want to give my child this strong name.
Shiloh is a biblical place in Genesis 49:10 meaning “peace”. This name is also used as another name for the Messiah. I absolutely love this!

I love a good, strong name for boys and girls. I feel like when you give a child a name, the meaning follows them. Maybe not always, but it’s good to have a strong name to stand behind either way.
